Kalbarri is based at Bray Marina and this is the most convenient place to embark. The Marina is 11 mins from Maidenhead and Windsor and Eton. However other pick up points can be arranged although there may be a small charge to get the boat to your chosen point of embarkation depending on the distance.
The following suggested itineraries are all based on starting at Bray Marina:
Embark at Bray Marina, leave the Thames side berth and travel gently down to Windsor. This takes about an hour so there is the opportunity to disembark in Windsor or perhaps drop off at the race course, enjoy a meal or snack in one of the many bars and restaurants or take a picnic. Alternatively return to Bray and dine in style at the renowned Waterside, the Bray Marina Brasserie or one of the other restaurants having enjoyed a glass of champagne and canapes onboard on the way.
Embark at Bray Marina, leave the Thames side berth and move upstream through Bray lock, past Maidenhead towards Cookham. Add another hour or two and Marlow could be reached. Moor off Cliveden Reach for a picnic or reserve a table at one of many restaurants en route including for example the Fat Duck and Waterside at Bray or Boulters bar at Maidenhead.
The journey to Henley through a number of locks, passing Maidenhead, Cookham and Marlow and some beautiful countryside takes about 4 - 5 hours depending on the amount of boat traffic going through the locks and whether a stop off for a picnic or meal in a restaurant is required. The options are to take it gently one way or do the full return journey which leaves less time to dawdle.
